Sheri Gundry, RP, EXAT

Registered Psychotherapist,  Expressive Arts Therapist
Expressive Arts, Healing, Wellness, and Mindfulness

Hello! I’m Sheri

Registered Psychotherapist,
Expressive Arts Therapist

My approach to Psychotherapy is through an  Expressive Arts Model.  It is client-centred, attachment and trauma-informed, explorative and intuitive.  I offer a safe and interactive atmosphere that is intuitive, relational, creative, and at times collaborative.  I am led by you in what you bring to each session, and in how each session unfolds.
We will discuss what is going on for you, and when you are ready, we will move into a discovery process through the arts. The art we create is “low skill, high sensitivity”, so there is no previous artistic experience required.  I facilitate that part of our session, so you begin from a place of ease.

I work with both individuals and groups.  So should you require some discussion about a group you would like me to work with, please contact me to discuss more of the details.
I look forward to discussing your particular situation, and your needs.

Expressive Arts Therapist

Sheri Gundry has over 5 years of experience with Expressive Arts, and is an Expressive Arts Therapist (EXAT), having been trained at CREATE Institute in their Creative Integrative Arts Therapy Training Program.  Sheri is a member of OEATA (Ontario Expressive Arts Therapy Association), and is a Registered Psychotherapist through the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Sheri is a practicing professional artist specializing in visual arts through a wide range of mediums, and as a performance artist as Sunflower the Clown (www.sunflowertheclown.com).

Sheri has worked towards her Bachelor of Theology in Child and Family Ministries – where she had a deep interest ignited in human development, psychology, lifespan development, and attachment theory.  Sheri has completed Level I and Level II of DBT Training with Dr. John R. Wagner of DBT Institute in Vancouver, as well as an 8-week training program in the use of Expressive Arts with trauma through CREATE Institute in 2015.  Sheri has also completed 30 hours of SEUS (Safe and Effective Use of Self) – Satir Method training with Sandra Finkleman.

Sheri continues to train through various workshops and programs around trauma, addictions, and attachment.

My Approach & Values

Sheri believes in being a witness and companion through her client’s journey.  Offering a place where there is no expectation and no-judgement of the process; removing barriers and supporting her clients through a self-discovery process that encourages new ways to live their lives in more robust. richer, and more authentic ways.

Sheri has not only been educated in therapy, but also has first hand knowledge of deeper, more challenging mental health issues, having had family members who have struggled with mental health and wellness.  These experiences deeply inform her work in her practice and allows for a deeper, more relational awareness.
