How Does Therapy Help?

Most people find themselves faced with challenging periods in their lives that can be difficult to navigate alone. These periods can be based on individual events, traumatic experiences, transitions of various kinds (such as loss and grief, death, divorce, job changes, relationship issues, life stages etc.) and are typically situations with high emotive content

Therapy can provide a safe non-judgemental, informed and compassionate place to explore these situations.

Through dialogue with your therapist and expression in their mode of therapy, you can make meaning of your experiences, opening up new possibilities while finding new resources and capacities within yourself.

Through an Expressive Arts model, the therapist acts as a witness and companion, as well as co-creator, facilitating your journey through your situation with arts as your lense. You will often find new perspectives in an atmosphere supporting your own growth and change.

The hope with therapy is that you will find the support you need to navigate through, that you will find a safe place to express yourself openly – exploring possibilities while being able to find your own voice more clearly. This authenticity will encourage you to be able to be more congruent in all of life’s transactions and hopefully more satisfied and fulfilled with your life.
