Is this covered under my insurance?
Possibly check with your insurance provider to see if they cover a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). I have a registration number that I will give you on your first invoice.
Do we still do talk therapy as part of our session?
Yes, every appointment typically begins with a “check-in” time before the art-making starts.
Do you do in-home therapy?
If there is a reason why doing in-home therapy helps my client, I am open to discussing it. As a rule, I would encourage appointments at my meeting space
What if I am not artistic?
The creating we do is about the process and not the finished product materials are very accessible.
How much do I have to tell you?
You tell me what you want to tell me. Hopefully, we trust relationship we develop a strong trust relationship where you feel safe sharing personal thoughts and feelings.
is there a difference between Expressive Art Therapy (EXAT) & Art Therapy?
Yes, there is a difference. Traditional Art Therapy is only through visual arts, typically through drawing or painting. Expressive Arts Therapy works across the arts. Using a variety of artistic expressions such as but not limited to socio-drama, psycho-drama, movement, breath work, playback theatre, drawing, painting, percussion, sculpting, poetry, and more. Often in an EXAT session, we layer multiple expressions.
